FAQ's

CSA License Info: (Please read Carefully)

  • You need a license to be able to take part in a CSA (Cycling South Africa) sanctioned event
  • You have to belong to a club to be able to take out a license.
  • Elite License only for people who wish to be recognised in provincial & national standings you will receive a CSA Elite license card.
  • Cyclosport license fee is R75 you will receive a CSA Cyclosport license card.
  • CSA Recreational Licence fee is R20 it's intended for recreational cyclists who are not really interested in competition, you will not receive a CSA license card, the license will be handled by your club membership, and your CSA license number will be on your Membership card.
When you have a club membership and CSA license you qualify to pick up a free Mazda MTN National MTB Series numberboard (lost number R50) with embedded timing chip which can be used for the next three years. (Mazda MTN National Series Only!)

The SA Marathon champs coincide with the 4th Leg of the Mazda Drifter series at Stellenbosch.

Some specific Mazda rules include the following:
The breaking of any of the rules will lead to immediate disqualification of the concerned rider from the event where the rule was broken:

    • Outside assistance (seconding) is not allowed under any circumstances at any of the Mazda races.  This includes family and friends driving the whole or part of the course in their vehicles spectating the race.  Spectating at specific points which can be reached without driving on the race course is allowed but no seconding or feeding at these points is permitted.
    • Pushing or pulling of other riders is not allowed at any time.
